Montse Montaner Picart is the Founder and CEO of Montaner & Associates GmbH. She is a visionary C-suite executive with extensive international leadership experience in some of the world's leading pharmaceutical companies.
Recognized among the Top 100 Women in Sustainability and the Top 100 Sustainability Leaders globally, Montse has built a distinguished career driving business transformation, operational excellence, quality leadership, compliance, and sustainability at scale.
Executive Career
Montse has been the first Novartis Chief Sustainability officer and during this period she has designed the new company strategy to become a biopharmaceutical leader in sustainability.
Prior to this role, she served as Chief Quality Officer at Novartis, overseeing quality across the entire value chain from research and development through commercial operations.
Throughout her career at Novartis and Sandoz, Montse held multiple senior leadership positions with global responsibility, leading complex international organizations and driving large-scale transformation initiatives.
Before joining Novartis, she spent more than fifteen years at Sanofi, serving in a variety of local and global leadership roles across the organization.
Board Leadership
Montse currently serves as a Board Member of several organizations, including the Children's Tumor Foundation, Ellab (Novo Holdings), CureAge Therapeutics, and HIPRA Laboratories, among others. She previously served as a Board Member of Bavarian Nordic and other leading organizations in the life sciences sector.
